Led by Enrico Castanini (General Manager) and Roberto Quber (President), Datasiel today represents the key reference point for IT culture in Liguria and provides all analysis, realization and support activities required by public administrations for the development of IT initiatives. The Regione Liguria, that has been the only shareholder, has assigned Datasiel the key role of instrument of industrial politics, innovation and research for the development in this region of Information and communication technology - ICT.
Datasiel provides services to the various kinds of organizations of the Ligurian Regional System, such as local bodies, companies directly controlled by Regione Liguria, healthcare structures and hospitals to:

Datasiel has developed, on regional, national and EU grants, several sectorial IT Systems that are utilized, according with their respective jurisdiction, by the Public Administration and regional healthcare structures. Among the covered sectors we can cite: General Registry systems, Healthcare, Local System of Taxation, Cadastre, Environment, Tourism, Cultural Patrimony, Civil Protection, Urban planning, Transportation, Job-centre, Professional training, Agriculture, Economic development. Datasiel's organizational system has been designed to guarantee the maximum outcome of resources in both the development of systems and management of services. The specialised expertise needed in the two Strategic Areas have been allocated to dedicated parts of the structure.
All 'transversal' processes of the different strategic areas have been entrusted to central structures with the main objective of continuous improvement of services and efficacy of assigned services.

Datasiel works on the development and management of an information system that covers all 360° of the diverse applicative areas for the Local Public Administration (PAL). Datasiel plays the role of consultant and analyst of complex systems for both levels, offering support in the identification of funds out of the yearly Customer's ICT budget for strategic projects that require significant start-up investments (fund raising).

Datasiel offering for healthcare covers two different levels:
" administration and management system for hospitals and healthcare agencies;
" planning and control system for regional level.
To support the management tasks of hospitals and healthcare agencies, Datasiel offers organizational consulting and system integration activities. By using the best combination of standard software Datasiel creates information systems that are able to support new patient care and assistance organization models, principally based on a tight integration between hospitals and territorial services (clinics, nursing homes, homecare).
In healthcare area Datasiel develops software applications only for innovative sectors for which an adequate "standard" product is not yet available.
Datasiel has also a solid experience on the governmental issues of the complex healthcare system and hence uses the sophisticated technologies of Datawarehouse to set up a multilevel flexible system used at a regional and peripheral level. In virtue of the experiences acquired, Datasiel also provide full outsourcing of important services for citizens and operators of the healthcare system.

Datasiel excels in the design and realization of web sites and portals. In this regard, we have designed the web site of the Regione Liguria, which won, in both 2003 and 2004, the first place in the annual Censis Prize "Città digitali" ("Digital Cities").
Datasiel also offers software application dedicated to the review of costs, administrative management, finance and human resources. Also can plan, realize, and manage the entire internal IT system - network, server, work stations, peripherals - of the client.
